Measurement engineering

 

 

In order to evaluate the efficiency and functionality of thermal energy plants, measurements of specific operation parameters of an existing plant need to be carried out (performance testing, operatability tests, permanent operation tests, fouling test/proof together with the collection of basic data to plan and dimension the plant).

The Consultant Engineer's Office for Energy and Environmental Technology looks back on long-year experience with thermal plant and laboratory measurement technology.

We offer the following equipment / the following measurements (further equipment can be supplied by cooperation partners):

  • Temperature/ temperature difference
    Measurements of thermocouple elements
    Temperature sensors for resistance measurement
    NTC/PTC temperature measurement technique
    Radiation / infrared measurement technique
  • High precision reference thermometer with 0,02K measurement inaccuracy - NIST/ITS-90-Calibration-Certificate according to ANSI/NCSL
  • Heating/cooling bath with a temperature range between -40 and 200°C for the processing and conditioning of calibration, exhaust and process gases
  • Pressure / pressure difference
  • Flow rate
    Mobile ultrasonic clamp-on flow meter can be installed without disrupting or influencing plant operation.
    Tube dimensions: DN15 to 400
    Temperature range: -40 to 170°C
    Flow velocity: 0 to 20 m/s
  • Heat / thermal capacity
    Combination of flow rate and temperature measurement techniques as well as characterization of media
  • Non-destructive testing of wall thickness for surfaces of heating exchange devices and appparatus (corrosion checks, abrasion inspections etc.)
  • Gasemissionen
    Various levels of measurement gas / process gas conditioning:

    Calibration of our measurement equipment is realized on the premises as well as by business partners.

    Datalogger (battery packed) with activation, control and readout via modem as well as with automatic SMS/Email failure message for

    • 8 galvanically isolated inlets (U, I, RTD, TC, I/O, f)

    Individual composition of data logger/measurement equipment configurations for defined measurement/ monitoring/surveillance tasks
  • Critical values
    In case of violation of boundary values the measurement euqipment and data loggers provided can operate auxiliary relays and/or SMS/Email messages can be transmitted.
  • Online access
    Online access on measurement technique via network or modem allows for funtion controls, readouts of actual and historical data and drawing of balances.
